Iran’s Culture Minister Sayed Reza Salihi-Amiri on Sunday strongly rejected the latest threats issued by U.S. President Donald Trump, describing him as an “unstable and delusional figure.”
In an interview with The Associated Press, Salihi-Amiri said that most Iranians no longer take Trump’s statements seriously. He argued that the U.S. leader lacks consistency in his behavior and rhetoric, often shifting between contradictory positions, which undermines his credibility in the eyes of the Iranian public.
Trump, however, escalated tensions further by warning that Iran could face military strikes on its power plants and bridges as early as Tuesday if it does not reopen the strategically crucial Strait of Hormuz to global shipping. In a strongly worded social media post, he threatened severe consequences, saying Iranians would be “living in hell” if the waterway remains blocked.
Responding to this, Salihi-Amiri remarked that Trump has become a puzzling figure, one that neither Iranians nor Americans can fully understand or interpret.
